Overview for the hike to Coburger Hut

This route is one of the most breathtaking alpine hikes in the Tyrolean Alps! Our day begins at the Ehrwalder Almbahn Talstation, where we take the 8-seater gondola up to Ehrwalder Alm — the gateway between the Wettersteingebirge and the Mieminger Kette. (Please note: the cable car ticket — approx. €25 round trip — is not included in the tour price.)

From Ehrwalder Alm, we follow a panoramic trail to the turquoise Seebensee, one of the most photographed alpine lakes in Austria. We then continue on a more challenging section up to Drachensee, a dramatic, hidden lake cradled by steep cliffs and rocky peaks.

Our final destination is the Coburger Hütte, located above Drachensee at 1,917 meters. Here, we’ll enjoy a traditional Tyrolean lunch with hearty regional dishes and incredible mountain views.

This is a long and rewarding day hike, rich in alpine beauty and authentic Austrian culture. From immaculate lakes to wild peaks and legendary mountain huts, this tour is a true highlight for nature lovers and mountain enthusiasts.
