Welcome the New Year in a special way: with a short winter hike to Baumgartenschneid, surrounded by nature, good company, and breathtaking views over the Tegernsee fireworks.
We’ll hike up for about 2 hours at an easy, relaxed pace, arriving in time to pause, connect, and enjoy the moment together. While waiting for midnight, we’ll warm up with mulled wine or hot tea, and as the clock strikes 12, we’ll raise our glasses of sparkling wine to the new year – with smiles, gratitude, and shared intention.

Overview - New Year’s Eve Hike to Baumgartenschneid
New Year’s Eve Hike to Baumgartenschneid – Fireworks, Views & Connection
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in a memorable way with a winter hike to Baumgartenschneid, combining movement, nature, and a shared moment to welcome the year ahead.
After about one hour of hiking, we’ll reach Riederstein (1,207 m), where we’ll take our first break and enjoy a stunning panoramic view over the Tegernsee. From here, we may already spot some early fireworks preparations in the valley below.
We’ll then continue our hike for another hour to reach the summit of Baumgartenschneid. Once there, we’ll have time to slow down, connect, and warm up with mulled wine or hot tea. As midnight approaches, we’ll take in the atmosphere together—and when the clock strikes twelve, we’ll toast the New Year with sparkling wine, celebrating with smiles, gratitude, and shared intention.
We’ll begin our descent around 12:30 a.m., heading back down under the winter night sky. We expect to arrive back at the parking area between 2:00 and 2:30 a.m., carrying tired legs, warm hearts, and smiles on our faces—grateful for a unique New Year’s experience shared with wonderful people.
