Overview
Obere Wettersteinspitze
This thrilling hike begins in the picturesque village of Mittenwald, situated at the foot of the stunning Karwendel Mountains.
The trail begins by curling through the forest, gradually gaining elevation as it ascends into the mountains. Along the route, hikers will have expansive views of the surrounding peaks, and the prominent Wetterstein range, with occasional glimpses of Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain, in the distance.
As we approach the summit at 2,574 meters, the terrain becomes steeper and more rugged, adding a sense of challenge and adventure. Upon reaching the top, we’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view that stretches across the entire region. This is the perfect spot for a well-deserved break to soak in the magnificent alpine scenery.
After taking time to appreciate the view, we’ll begin our descent, retracing the same trail back to Mittenwald. The return journey offers a different perspective of the landscape, allowing us to reflect on the hike and enjoy the beauty of the mountains one last time.
This hike is ideal for experienced hikers seeking a full-day adventure with rewarding views, a challenging ascent, and an unforgettable alpine experience.
