Overview

Rotwand from Spitzingsee

Starting Point: Spitzingsee (1,084 m)

We begin at the beautiful lake of Spitzingsee. It’s a calm and inspiring place to start, surrounded by forested hills and crisp alpine air.

First Ascent: Gleiselstein
Our first goal is Gleiselstein, a quieter peak that offers a great warm-up and stunning views over the valley. It’s a lesser-known gem where we can enjoy some peaceful moments before the more popular trails.

Onward to Rotwand (1,884 m)
Next, we head up to Rotwand, one of the most iconic peaks in the region. On the way, we’ll experience panoramic views and alpine meadows full of wildflowers in summer.

Lunch Break: Rotwandhaus
At the top, we’ll take a well-deserved break at Rotwandhaus, a traditional mountain hut with hearty Bavarian food. Whether it’s a warm soup or a slice of cake, there’s something for everyone here.

Ridge Walk to Taubenstein
After lunch, we continue along the ridge toward Taubenstein. It’s an easy and scenic route enjoying the views of the surrounding peaks and lakes.

Relaxation at Taubenstein
Here we’ll take a break—either to relax, meditate, or enjoy nature.

Descent to Spitzingsee
We return to Spitzingsee in the afternoon, completing our loop. Time for a final reflection, a photo by the lake, or even a celebratory drink at one of the local huts.

Using psychological NLP methods, I’ve helped several clients overcome their fear of heights and gain greater confidence in alpine terrain.
